Amyna Dosani is a magazine journalism and Plan II Honors junior at the University of Texas at Austin. She also has concentrations in Spanish and Latin American Media Studies. While feature writing is her passion, her goal is to do it all. Currently, she is a copy editor at The Daily Texan, a writer for Her Campus Texas, a contributor for a biannual publication called The Ismaili Magazine and an avid, film-tastic member (and hopefully associate producer!) of Texas Student TV’s Austin Underground crew. Her love for global cultures and basic familiarity with Celtic music attracted her to this topic. In her free time, Amyna enjoys pretending she actually has free time by baking delicious treats, flamenco dancing and succumbing to the fate of coffee shop hipster.
Lauren Jette is a 3rd year news print journalism major at UT. Her love for newspapers developed from her mother’s habit of leaving the paper scattered across the dining table every morning before school. Lauren got the reporting bug after freelancing for her hometown newspaper, The River Cities Tribune, for two summers before starting at UT. Lauren currently covers men’s tennis for The Daily Texan and hopes to become a sports reporter for a big city newspaper one day. When not chasing down breaking news, Lauren is also a member of the Longhorn Band and is the shortest cymbal player on the field at halftime in DKR.
